STRAY is more than a motion picture. It represents the culmination of a lifetime devoted to music, creativity, storytelling, and the pursuit of a dream that began eighteen years ago. For creator, writer, and filmmaker Victor Stone, the journey began long before the screenplay was completed
A Lifetime Rooted in Music
Victor’s creative foundation began at North Carolina Central University, where he studied music, with additional studies in education and art. In 1980, he co-founded the band Risse, beginning a musical journey that would span decades.
As a keyboardist and performing musician, he experienced firsthand the realities of the entertainment industry: rehearsals, arrangements, travel, financial sacrifices, disappointments, and the determination required to step onto a stage and deliver something extraordinary. Like so many musicians, he carried the dream of one day reaching the big time.
Those experiences helped shape STRAY’s story of ambition, faith, loyalty, betrayal, and the price of pursuing a dream.

The Birth of STRAY
Eighteen years ago, Victor envisioned a film that would bring together the emotional power of gospel music and the complicated realities of the entertainment business. That vision became STRAY.
At its heart, STRAY is a gospel musical drama about extraordinary talent meeting ambition, opportunity, manipulation, and the seductive promise of success. Loyalty is tested, faith is challenged, and dreams carry unexpected consequences.

For years, the vision remained alive, even when the resources required for a feature-length musical film seemed beyond reach.

A New Approach to Independent Filmmaking
Artificial intelligence opened a new creative pathway. Through AI World Media, Victor began combining traditional filmmaking experience with AI-assisted production techniques to create environments and sequences that would otherwise be difficult to realize independently.
Technology, however, is only part of the process. STRAY is being developed around human creativity, authentic musical performances, and emotionally compelling storytelling.
The original songs began with Victor’s lyrics, creative direction, and musical concepts. AI-assisted demos helped communicate their sound and emotion. The next phase brings musicians, arrangers, and vocalists into the studio to develop the finished soundtrack, alongside performances from real actors and singers.
The objective is not to replace artistic talent. It is to expand what independent artists can create.

The Music Is Part of the Story
Music is not simply a background element in STRAY. Its gospel songs express the struggles, aspirations, victories, and emotional conflicts of the characters—from intimate moments of faith to powerful musical confrontations.
The goal is a soundtrack whose songs can live beyond the film, reaching audiences and finding new life through other performers. In this way, STRAY returns Victor to his musical roots while opening a new creative chapter.
